Computex 2023: From NVIDIA AI supercomputers to MSI laptops, see the highlights
Computex 2023, one of the world’s largest computer and technology fairs, began today, May 30. After three years of only appearing online, the event has this time returned to an in-person format. There are many PC and technology related announcements at the technology fair held in Taipei, Taiwan. In addition, AI-based services are also expected to be announced. On the first day, NVIDIA announced its latest supercomputer, while MSI and Acer announced their latest laptops.

1. NVIDIA announces a supercomputer
Nvidia has announced a new AI supercomputer called the DGX GH200. Nvidia’s latest offering combines 256 of its Grace Hopper superchips, which were first announced in March 2022. Together, they combine a 144TB GPU with proven 900Gbps GPU-to-GPU bandwidth. The company claims that the supercomputer is capable of 1-exaflop compared to the performance of FP8 AI.
2. Fourteenth generation Intel processors
Intel announced Intel Meteor Lake processors. These new processors are based on Intel’s new multi-core technology and are manufactured using 4nm technology using 3D stacking. According to Intel, the new 14th generation processors have a modular design consisting of a processor, a GPU and a dedicated AI accelerator.
3. Non-gaming and gaming MSI laptops
MSI announced a number of laptops, including the 14 Series line of business and non-gaming laptops, as well as the Prestige 16 Studio Evo, which features a built-in smart card reader and NFC support. The laptops are equipped with 13th generation Intel processors, and select models have NVIDIA graphics cards with Studio Ready drivers. To meet the needs of gamers, MSI has announced the release of the Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport equipped with an NVIDIA 40 series graphics card. In addition to this, Z790 motherboards with WiFi 7 and 5 GbE support have also been announced.
4. Acer Swift 16
Acer has announced the world’s first WiFi-compatible laptop – the Swift Edge 16. According to Acer, the Swift Edge 16 has a Wi-Fi 7 modem and can deliver speeds of up to 5.8Gbps with a low 2ms latency over WiFi. It won Computex’s Best Choice award for the most inspiring and innovative design of the year.
5. Asus graphics card
At the Computex 2023 event, Asus announced the new ROG GeForce RTX 4070 GPU concept with its own power management. Asus says this eliminates the need for power cables with compatible motherboards like the Z790 TUF Gaming motherboard.
